A Few Old Standbys Top List

According to our research, the top 2024 Halloween costume in the Buckeye State is as simple as it gets.

Ghost had the highest search interest score at 34 points. You can go slightly fancy with this concept because there are ghost dresses for sale if you want to mix fashion with fright. But mostly, this is the perfect last-minute solution when you have kids who decide at about 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 that theyā€™re not too old to go our trick or treating after all. Just grab an old sheet and a pair of scissors, and theyā€™re ready to go in minutes.

Thereā€™s also Ghost Face from the ā€œScreamā€ movie franchise, for those seeking some nostalgia mixed with pop culture.

Second on our list, with 29 points, is a princess costume. You might even have one available already ā€“ did your little one star in a school play this year? ā€“ and the thought of being royalty, even for a night, has eternal appeal for many.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ā€¦ Wait, Donā€™t Say It Again

The just-released film ā€œBeetlejuice Beetlejuiceā€ is a sequel to the 1988 hit ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ and has sparked a revival in the title character as a Halloween costume idea. Itā€™s at No. 3 on our list with a search interest score of 28. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine Oā€™Hara return for the second round, in which saying the name ā€œBeetlejuiceā€ can summon the groovy, undead ā€œghost with the mostā€ to appear.

Comic book characters are well represented in the top 10, including Deadpool, Batman, Spider-Man and the pair from the upcoming Joker movie, ā€œJoker: Folie a Deux.ā€ Joker and Harley Quinn (portrayed in the movie by Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga) are together on our list too, occupying sixth and seventh spots, respectively.

Fall in Ohio not only means Halloween candy and costumes, it means football ā€“ and you can track Ohio State football bowl projections as the college season rolls along. Actually, weā€™re a bit surprised that football player didnā€™t make our list of most searched costumes in Ohio.
