Ohio Among Top 15 Biggest Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping States

Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

The busiest time of the American shopping calendar arrives this month. Just after Thanksgiving, millions of people flock to retail stores and a host of websites to score one-day deals and finish off their Christmas and holiday lists for good.

Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving every year, is a massive shopping day for Americans. And nowadays, thanks to the popularity of online shopping, Cyber Monday has become a great time to score even more deals.

At BetOhio.com, home of the best Ohio sports betting coverage, we wanted to see which states are the most interested in Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. We used Google Trends to rank states based on a combined interest score for “black friday,” “black friday deals,” “cyber monday,” and “cyber monday deals.” We then used SEMRush.com to find the search volume for the terms “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” in Ohio to see which is more popular in the state.  All searches were conducted from Oct. 12 to Nov. 12, 2024.
