Editor’s Note: This story updated Jan. 10, 2025.

Tee Higgins was one of the most discussed players during the NFL’s offseason last year, and the Cincinnati Bengals star receiver will likely get the same amount of attention this offseason.

The Bengals put a franchise tag on Higgins, who turns 26 on Jan. 18. While that decision was met initially with a trade request from Higgins, he stayed with the team and enjoyed a dynamic season, despite missing five games due to injuries. He finished with 73 receptions – one off his career high – for 911 yards and a career-best 10 touchdowns.

BetOhio.com, as part of our Ohio betting sites coverage, broke down some exclusive odds for which NFL team Higgins will suit up for next season. These are odds you will not find at any Ohio sports betting operator, like BetMGM Ohio sportsbook.

Since our last update in June, the odds on Higgins staying with the Bengals have shortened slightly. During the season, Higgins made news when it was revealed he switched agents. His new agent Rocky Arceneaux also represents teammate and All-Pro receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

In addition, quarterback Joe Burrow has spoken openly to the media about Higgins’ importance to the offense. Those developments, and the likely amount of cap space the Bengals should have this spring, have increased the odds he’ll end up hearing the “TEEEEE!!!!!” chant at Paycor Stadium for another few years.

What Is Tee Higgins Worth?

Chase finished the 2024 season by becoming the fifth receiver in NFL history to win the receiving Triple Crown, leading the league with 127 receptions for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns. As impressive as Chase’s numbers were, you can argue that Higgins was just as valuable.

Cincinnati won eight of the 12 games Higgins played this season, and the team was 1-4 when he did not play. Even after missing nearly 30% of the season, Higgins still finished 30th in the league in receptions, 31st in yardage and tied for sixth in touchdowns. Had he been available for the full season, it’s highly likely Cincinnati finishes better than 9-8 and would be playing this weekend in the playoffs. Instead, we’re left to look at Bengals draft analysis for 2025 (and the Cleveland Browns too).

But injuries are an issue with Higgins, who also only played in 12 games in 2023. Despite those concerns, if Higgins were to hit the free market, he’d likely command about $25 million or more per season. That would put him around the same level as such wideouts as D.J. Moore, D.K. Metcalf, Deebo Samuel and Cooper Kupp.

Again, given the developments that have taken place in recent weeks, it’s likely that Cincinnati retains Higgins for likely another three or four years. However, the front office failed to get the job done last season with him and Chase, who is set to become the highest paid receiver in the league. So, while the chances are good that it gets done. It’s far from a lock at this point.
