Mobile Ohio sports betting made its debut on New Years Day. Since then, bettors in the state have had many events to consider for a wager.
Now it is time for an annual Ohio golf event.
The start of June tees off Thursday with The Memorial Tournament - hosted by 18-time major champion and arguably the greatest golfer ever, Jack Nicklaus - at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
The Memorial is one of the PGA Tour’s longest-running events at one venue, having debuted at Muirfield Village in 1976. Dublin is an 18-mile, 20-minute drive from Columbus.
Bettors will be able to consider the PGA’s top players on Ohio sports betting apps.
The top five players on the Official World Golf Ranking - Scottie Scheffler, 2020 champion Jon Rahm, 2019 and 2021 champion Patrick Cantlay, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele – all will tee it up among a field of 120.
The field also includes defending champion Billy Horschel, who won by four strokes last year.
Missing from the event will be five-time champion Tiger Woods (1999, 2000, 2001, 2009, 2012).
Muirfield plays as a 7,571-yard, par 72 layout.
