It’s Florence Over Paris for Ohio Residents
According to the study, Florence (not the Florence in Ohio) has edged Paris (nope not the town in Ohio either). The 103-year-old Italian-brand Gucci edged Paris-based Louis Vuitton and Dior with an interest score of 51. Paris-based Louis Vuitton placed second with a 50 and their neighbor, Dior, rounded out the top three with a 44. Chanel (38) and Versace (33) rounded out the top five.
Three of Gucci’s 117 stores in the U.S. are right here in Ohio, with two in Columbus (one standalone retail store that opened in July 2022) and one in Beachwood in the greater Cleveland area. Gucci merchandise features leather goods, handbags, luggage, jewelry, watches, eyewear and more.
The much older Louis Vuitton, at the age of 170, generated $15.325 billion in worldwide sales during the most recent year-end data (2020), which paled in comparison to No. 2 Gucci ($66.675 billion). Dior took in $6.097 billion in worldwide sales.
Louis Vuitton has three stores in Ohio: Beachwood, Cincinnati, and Columbus. Dior has one store in Beachwood.
