There’s an old adage that it’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, which appears to be far from the case for countless Americans that long for a former loved one. That’s because a number of cities across this great country of ours have left a digital paper trail in their quest to win back an ex, with cities like Albuquerque, New Orleans, Columbus and Cincinnati having the highest search interest in terms related to winning that special somebody back.
While it’s not quite as romantic as hoisting a mammoth boombox up and blaring that person’s favorite song for them to hear, the more digital method of getting your true love back in your life must work for some out there, based on the proliferation of search interest in such things online.
Due to National Text Your Ex Day coming up on Oct. 30, we utilized Google Trends to find the cities that have searched “Should I Text My Ex?” the most over the last 12 months (Oct 21st, 2023, to Oct 21st, 2024).

Nationally, no city had a greater search interest relating to winning back their ex than the Duke City, with Albuquerque’s search interest score of 18 knocking off the Big Easy for No. 1.
New Orleans was second nationally in searching for ways to win that person back, with a search interest score of 16, while the Buckeye State two step of Columbus and Cincinnati were tied for third with scores of 13 apiece.
Throw in four more cities, in San Antonio, Orlando, Chicago and Miami, all of whom posted search interest scores of 10 and the quintet of Atlanta, San Diego, Nashville, Philadelphia and Salt Lake City (eight search interest score each) and you have the full list of the cities across America with the most search interest on topics surrounding winning an ex back in 2024.
Still, none of those meccas of romanticism could hold a candle in the wind to the capital city of the Land of Enchantment, with Albuquerque residents burning the candle from both ends to win their exes back as the chill of winter arrives along the precipice of the Sandias.
